Be sure to ask how long the agent has been “in the business?” Ask if they are a local “expert” with a strong knowledge of the market? What unique web based tools do they possess to help clients buy and sell real estate? Ask how they are different from all the other agents in the business – what makes them unique? Dan and I recommend you seek permission to speak with the agent’s past clients to determine how well they served their client’s needs.

Q - Dan, there are so many great San Diego homes on the market - how do we know when we have found the right home for us?

A - Having a crystallized understanding of your home buying needs is especially important. To accomplish this, we will schedule a meeting to analyze your unique needs even before we began searching homes together. You should expect to be asked many questions during this first consultation. People are motivated to purchase a San Diego area home for many reasons. Maybe you’re relocating to the area – maybe you’re ready to move-up to a larger home with more “creature comforts”. The possibilities are endless. Of course, we need to know the typical answers to questions like how many bedrooms and baths you want, how much square footage is needed…ECT? How about lifestyle priorities – do you need to be near a marina or maybe the property should have a tennis court. Remember, someday soon you will become a seller, we ask you consider the home’s location and make sure it is marketable to other potential buyers who are like you. We should also discuss the convenience factor of the home and it’s location. We recommend you make note of your wants and needs on paper so you won’t forget any of the details.
