CA State Beaches
Encinitas Beach
Encinitas displays energy and vitality that come from excentric ideals and attitudes. The La Plaloma Theatre and Martini Ranch often host surf movies and live bands. You'll find plenty of recreational activities throughout the area.
Moonlight State Beach is located at the end of Encinitas Blvd. The shore drops down close to sea level and is the easiest to find. This beach has a large parking lot, lifegaurds, restrooms and snack bar. There are rocky cliffs that spread for miles just north and south of this area.
D Street will lead you to the beach known as Boneyards and runs below the bluffs from Moonlight Beach and Swami's Point. This spot is better suited for surfing rather than sunbathing.
Swami's is the most popular surf spot in the Encinitas beach area. This part of the beach is usually crowded with the local surfers but the small park, Sea Cliff, is just across the parking lot. The park has ample shade trees, picnic tables, barbecue pics and clean bathrooms. You can also find a somewhat good spot to dive, but other sites are more recommended for this type of activity.
